Vacant position as Postdoc at Copenhagen Center for Glycomics
We are looking for one or more highly motivated and skilled researcher(s) with experience in glycobiology, gene targeting, and cell biology.
The successful candidate(s) will be employed as postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and the employment period is for 3 years starting on July 1st 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon funding.
The position is related to a specific project on how glycans affect the function of the human neurological system. With our recent development in genetic engineering and mass spectrometry we aim to perform a systematic dissection of glycans in neuronal differentiation, synapse formation, and the interplay between neurons and glial cells. We will use genetic engineering and mass spectrometry technologies combined with neural cell and tissue models to understand the importance of glycans in axon pathfinding, neural plasticity, and eventually on the cause of abnormal processes in neural diseases. The program has high potential for fundamental discoveries with wide impact in neural sciences and pharmacological intervention in neural diseases.
