Vacant position as Research Assistant
The Hickson laboratory in the Center for Chromosome Stability is seeking a Research Assistant.
The Hickson laboratory undertakes research projects aimed at understanding how human cells maintain a stable genome. As well as conventional protein biochemistry, the group utilizes optical tweezers coupled with fluorescence microscopy to study dynamic events during the manipulation of DNA structure by DNA translocases and topoisomerases.
The post-holder will join a team within the laboratory that uses protein biochemistry to study DNA-protein interactions. A key role of the post-holder will be to express and purify proteins and characterize their enzymatic activities.
The research assistant will also have opportunities to work in close collaboration with different researchers within the group at various stages of their research as the need arises.
Deadline for applications: Sunday 23 August 2020, 23.59 p.m. CET.
