Ying Liu appointed Professor at ICMM
On Thursday 22 January 2026 the professorship of Ying Liu was celebrated at the Professor Inauguration for all appointed professors at the Faculty of Health and Medical Science.
Ying Liu has been affiliated with ICMM since 2010 and was in December 2025 appointed Professor of Cancer Genetics and Biology.
Ying Liu on the appointment:
“I am very honored and proud to have been promoted to a full professor and taken part in the elegant Inauguration ceremony. It has been an enjoyable career development since I joined ICMM as an Assistant Professor in 2010. I am deeply grateful for all the support from my previous and current group members, colleagues in ICMM, external collaborators and my families in China and UK along this journey.”
Ying Liu and her group aim to understand the measures cells use to counteract replication stress caused by either internal factors or external factors, and why some regions in the genome are particularly susceptible to those factors.
